The Saturday Tea Cake run

The ‘tea cake’ run is usually about 40 miles leaving Sheffield at around 9:45 and arrives at The Rose Cottage tea rooms in Castleton at about 11:30 then returns straight back to Sheffield for about 1pm.

The route is generally up to Fox House, down Froggatt, Baslow, Pilsley, Ashford, Monsal Head, down Monsal, up Cressbrook, Litton, Tideswell, Bradwell and then Castleton but this can vary a little depending on the weather and time of year.

Tuesday Night MOSCAR Chain Gang 2008

The MOSCAR Chain Gang will start Tuesday 15th April 2008 (providing it’s not snowing).
Meeting place will be as last year, the Chapel at the top of Moscar, 6pm prompt.
The route will be much the same as previous years, Moscar, Ladybower, Bamford to Castleton return to Hathersage then Gridleford, Calver, Baslow back up Froggatt and home.

Until the nights start drawing out there is a shortened version which is Ladybower, Bamford, Castleton turn back to Hathersage (get out clause here is straight up Suprise), Grindleford, Calver, up Froggatt and home. This does get extended in summer to include Baslow and 13 bends. All welcome but it is a training session so no one will wait for you, unless you have an accident of some sort. Tired legs don’t constitute being waited for.

Tuesday Night HUNTERS BAR Chain Gang
If anyone from the south of the City struggles to make the 6:00pm meet at Moscar for the official Rutland chain gang then there will be a second chain gang departing from Hunters Bar roundabout at 6:30pm every Tuesday.
The route will probably vary as light increases but to start with it’s up Ecclesall Road then right onto Ringinglow Road before dropping down into Hathersage. From there it will be through and off down the valley to Castleton and back.
