It was a poor showing from Lee’s old cycling mates down at the Carbrook Hall on Saturday but his old work colleagues made up the numbers and managed to fill the room. Malc Chattle, Malc Cross, Jeremy Masterman, Ian Murray and Simon Keeton did put in an appearance. Lee had filled out a lit more since he was last seen by most in December 1988 but that has been through food and not beer, for Lee doesn’t drink at all now and hasn’t done so for about 8 years. Lee’s 49 now, he has split from his wife Bev but has just got engaged to Marilyn and is getting wed again in September. His son Johnathan and daughter Ashley live with their Mum whilst Lee has set up home with his fiancee Marilyn. The Sheffield accent has gone and it has been replaced by what seems more of an Irish one than Canadian. He doesn’t ride the bike anymore (only a mountain bike) due to the fact that he’s always at work at his new factory where he works for himself as a pattern maker. He’d love to hear from any old Rutlers so anyone interested in getting in touch with Lee can contact him via e-mail at lee@premierpattern.com
